XML API FOR SAGE 50

Your next time-saver.
Starts here - Download

Connect your systems to Sage 50. Install the XML API and try an example import in a demo company.

Sage 50 v21 / 2015 onwards · MSI installer

Before you start.

Before installing, create a dedicated user, such as PT1, in every Sage 50 company. The XML API connects through the Sage SDK and must not share a login with another user. Follow the setup instructions before your first import.

FROM DOWNLOAD TO YOUR FIRST IMPORT

Make yourself at home.

  1. Install and protect your settings.

Run the installer. A network share is recommended. Settings are held in the installation directory, so back up that directory regularly.

  2. Choose a company and register.

Open the shortcut or run XMLapi.exe. Select a Sage 50 company and enter the dedicated login details, then press OK. The program closes; restart to register or enter your existing account number, or email and password.

Restart once more to obtain the company codes copied to the clipboard. Save these in a text editor for your XML files.

  3. Try an example import.

Open an example XML file from IN/Examples. Replace <companyCode>DEMO01</companyCode> with your company code, or remove that tag to use the default company selected in settings. Save the file and move it to IN.

With automatic import enabled, successful files move to IN/ImportedXML, with the transaction number recorded in a comment. Failed files move to IN/FailedXML; read the error comment at the top, correct the file and resubmit it to IN.

  4. Ready for live use?

Evaluate the full product with a Sage demonstration company. Live-company use requires a subscription and card details. Billing is monthly; future renewals can be cancelled at any time.
